PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Hendrik Lorentz (ranked 3725 p4p, 5581 weight class) and Aleksandar Ivkov (ranked 398 p4p, 530 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivkov misses with a lunging right hand
and Lorentz counters with a solid body kick.
Ivkov shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Lorentz eats them both and turns towards Ivkov to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Hendrik Lorentz has been cut.
Lorentz misses with a straight left.
Ivkov lands with a shot to the body.
Lorentz gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Lorentz takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Lorentz just misses with a punch to the body.
Ivkov misses with a body kick.
Lorentz feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Ivkov throws a right hand that Lorentz ducks under and follows up with a left that Lorentz also avoids with ease.
Lorentz ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ivkov throws a sloppy head kick and Lorentz moves out of range easily.
Ivkov looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Good standup being displayed there by Ivkov as he connects with a hook.

Ivkov throws out a head kick that Lorentz doesn't see coming - it connects and sends Lorentz crashing to the mat face first! He's bounced up to his knees and is scrambling to get back to his feet and beat the count. He's up on 5 but still looks a bit groggy; will the referee allow it to continue??? He's taking a good look into Lorentz's eyes and has decided to let it go on!
Ivkov throws a hook but Lorentz avoids it easily.

Ivkov throws a looping overhand right but Lorentz ducks down to avoid it.
Lorentz throws a head kick that misses.
Ivkov misses with a combination
and Lorentz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ivkov throws a right hand that Lorentz ducks under and follows up with a left that Lorentz also avoids with ease.
Lorentz blocks a head kick by Ivkov.
A combination from Ivkov does no damage.
A head kick by Ivkov misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Ivkov missing with a left hand there. Lorentz was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A punch lands to the side of Ivkov 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Ivkov steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lorentz. That one must have hurt.

and Lorentz counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ivkov's knee momentarily.
Aleksandar Ivkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ivkov fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Lorentz avoids the head kick by Ivkov.
It looked like Lorentz wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Ivkov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Lorentz gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Ivkov lands a front kick.
Some wild striking there from Ivkov.
Ivkov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lorentz moves away.
Ivkov throws a sloppy head kick and Lorentz moves out of range easily.
Lorentz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ivkov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

and Lorentz counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Aleksandar Ivkov has been cut.
Lorentz throws a leg kick which misses Ivkov's front leg but catches the back leg as Ivkov tries to avoid it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ivkov is rocked!
Lorentz connects with a quick right hand that sends Ivkov tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!
