The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Philips keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lovanov throws a body shot but no joy.

Lovanov throws an overhand right that lands on Philips's shoulder, as Philips tries to avoid the shot.
Lovanov scores with a sloppy right hand. Philips should have avoided that one.

It looks like Radio Philips has been cut.
Philips looks to land a combination. Lovanov sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Philips tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lovanov paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lovanov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Philips.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

A looping hook to the body misses from Philips. Lovanov does a little dance to reset his feet.

so Lovanov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Philips wants to get back to his feet but Lovanov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Lovanov cracks Philips with a solid left hand.
Philips wants to stand up but Lovanov is controlling him.
Lovanov is in close to Philips's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Lovanov lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Philips really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lovanov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lovanov scores with a big shot! Philips's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Philips! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
