And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 10 wins and 13 losses; Brian Ortega!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Ortega instigates a clinch.

Al Jhit gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Ortega regains guard.

Ortega escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Al Jhit gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Al Jhit trying to control the position from guard on top but Ortega is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Al Jhit wants to pass the guard but Ortega is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ortega looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Al Jhit is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ortega is trying to keep Al Jhit in close.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ortega is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Al Jhit defends well.
Al Jhit is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Al Jhit got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ortega has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Al Jhit has managed to get both his arms back between Ortega's legs - danger averted.
Al Jhit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ortega swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ortega is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ortega wants to sweep but no luck.

Al Jhit is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Ortega has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Al Jhit is looking to defend but Ortega has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Al Jhit! Ortega pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Al Jhit taps out and this one is all over!
