Roos comes to the cage accompanied by EASY MONEY. The crowd seem to be enjoying Nakagawa's choice of entrance music: Koto - CloZee. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cooper Roos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shinnosuke Nakagawa!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Summer Carpenter and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakagawa throws a body shot but no joy.
Roos displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nakagawa.
A little feinted left hand from Roos on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Roos has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Convicted Fight Club in the buildup to the fight.
Nakagawa throws a looping overhand right but Roos ducks down to avoid it.
Nakagawa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Roos circles away.
Nakagawa connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Roos's hands.

Cooper Roos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shinnosuke Nakagawa.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nakagawa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Roos is fending him off so far but Nakagawa persists. Nope, Roos circles away and we're back to standing.
Roos quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

and Roos counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Nakagawa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Roos holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Nakagawa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Roos is just riding it out for now. Nakagawa eventually gives up the hold.

Roos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nakagawa is working away from the top position though.
Roos is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Roos is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Nakagawa looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
