Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Diamond (ranked 1973 p4p, 1132 weight class) and Daniel Plainview (ranked 246 p4p, 151 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Diamond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Plainview!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diamond throws a right and a left that both miss.
Diamond getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Plainview shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Diamond's guard.

Plainview drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Diamond manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Plainview has Diamond in his guard.


Plainview has his foot on Diamond's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Diamond works his way back into a safe position though.

Plainview fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Diamond to the ground. Plainview is now in Diamond's guard.

Diamond has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Plainview off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Plainview shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Diamond counters with a nice uppercut.
Diamond is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Plainview can do to turn this around?

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Plainview working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Diamond doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Diamond manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
