Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neville Southall (ranked 1654 p4p, 2005 weight class) and Keith Bishop (ranked 242 p4p, 287 weight class). Bishop is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Whatever. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop slaps away a takedown attempt from Southall, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bishop feints a counter leg kick.
Bishop throws a quick inside leg kick.
Southall lands a nice leg kick that just misses Bishop's sensitive parts.
Bishop moves out of range of the body kick.
A nice leg kick from Bishop, right into the meat of the thigh.
Bishop misses with an uppercut.
Bishop connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Southall's hands.
Southall moves away from the strike by Bishop.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Southall swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Bishop connects with a crisp jab.
Bishop jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Southall tries for a takedown but Bishop circles away easily
and Bishop makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Bishop lands a nice shot that snaps Southall's head back.
Bishop lands a leg kick that knocks Southall off balance momentarily.
Keith Bishop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bishop tries to move into range but Southall moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Southall is trying hard to land a takedown here. Bishop sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Bishop throws a front kick that sends Southall stumbling back into the cage.
Bishop throws a push kick but Southall slaps the foot to one side.

Bishop lunges at Southall with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Southall's hand.

Bishop throws a low kick, looking for Southall's leg but Southall calmly moves out of range.
Southall takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

It looks like Neville Southall has been cut.
Bishop connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Bishop fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Southall.
Southall is looking to clinch.
Southall is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Southall throws a head kick that misses.
Bishop scores with a head kick. Southall tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Bishop finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
As Bishop looks to move away, Southall throws a big counter combo but Bishop just gets out of the way.

Southall shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bishop is trying to defend but Southall finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bishop tries to roll over but Southall keeps him under control.
Southall throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Southall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Southall looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bishop with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bishop wants to control but Southall is keeping busy.
