And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 17 wins and 12 losses; Koryu Miyagi!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

Walters tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Miyagi defends well and Walters ends up having to push Miyagi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Kevin Walters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Koryu Miyagi.
Walters drops down looking for an ankle pick but Miyagi pulls his leg out and moves away.
Koryu Miyagi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Miyagi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walters swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Walters is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Walters escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Miyagi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Miyagi is fighting to break Walters's control of his arms but Walters is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Walters is trying to maintain the position but Miyagi is very close to passing his half guard.

Walters is pressing down on Miyagi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Walters is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Miyagi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Walters is looking to escape.

You can see the frustration on Walters's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
What can Walters do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Miyagi doesn't have the hooks in and Walters manages to turn into his guard.

Walters is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Miyagi to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Miyagi shrugs it off.
Miyagi is desperately trying to improve his position but Walters has a good base and remains in mount.
Miyagi stops Walters from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Miyagi tries to lock up and control but Walters gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Miyagi sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Miyagi felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Walters content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Miyagi is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Walters has latched onto it... Big trouble! Walters pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Miyagi is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Walters!
