Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Broder Alert (ranked 1846 p4p, 1875 weight class) and Hirata Hitoshi (ranked 234 p4p, 236 weight class). Hirata Hitoshi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Broder Alert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hirata Hitoshi!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hitoshi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Alert.
Hitoshi shoots for a double leg takedown but Alert sprawls well. He's pushed Hitoshi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Alert closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hitoshi circles away.
Hitoshi is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Hitoshi tries to clinch there but Alert circles away.
Hitoshi stuffs the takedown.
Hitoshi feints the counter takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Broder Alert. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hitoshi swings widly with a right hand

and Alert counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Alert is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hitoshi sees it coming and defends easily.
Alert is trying to control the action in half guard but Hitoshi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Hitoshi has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Alert wants to control but Hitoshi is keeping him busy.

Alert seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hitoshi does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hitoshi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Alert shoots in for a takedown but Hitoshi shows good takedown defense.
Alert has a takedown stuffed.
A countering left hand to the body from Hitoshi misses.
Hitoshi looks to score with a jab to the body but Alert is just out of range.
Alert is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Hitoshi.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Alert shoots in looking for a takedown. Hitoshi tries to sprawl out of it but Alert keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hitoshi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Hitoshi throws a looping overhand right but Alert ducks down to avoid it.
Alert fails to land the takedown.
Hitoshi tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Alert changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hitoshi tries to avoid it but Alert manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hitoshi to the ground. Hitoshi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hitoshi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alert paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Alert appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hirata Hitoshi will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hitoshi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Alert is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hitoshi distracts Alert with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Hitoshi is in close to Alert's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Hitoshi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hitoshi is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Alert is rocked!
Hitoshi loads up on a big left hand. Alert felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Hitoshi looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Alert can't hide his disappointment, as Hitoshi celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hirata Hitoshi!
A relieved looking Hirata Hitoshi thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
