Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Wei (ranked 4075 p4p, 4059 weight class) and Demitre Hynes (ranked 79 p4p, 78 weight class). Demitre Hynes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wei scores with a sloppy right hand. Hynes should have avoided that one.
Wei is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hynes sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hynes tries for a takedown but Wei sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hynes tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Wei manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Wei darts in looking for a takedown but Hynes gets double underhooks and turns Wei into the cage.
Hynes stalling the fight.
Wei breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hynes looks to score with a jab to the body but Wei is just out of range.
Hynes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wei dives in and grabs Hynes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hynes pushes down on Wei's head and hops out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hynes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wei is fending him off so far but Hynes persists. Nope, Wei circles away and we're back to standing.
Hynes shoots in looking for a takedown but Wei manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hynes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Wei seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Wei fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hynes, pushing him back against the cage.
Wei breaks from the clinch.

Wei avoids the head kick by Hynes.
Hynes tries to clinch but Wei moves away
and Wei counters with a crisp one two that drops Hynes! Wei thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hynes to his feet! Hynes is in big trouble!
Wei throws a leg kick but Hynes moved away.
Hynes tries to keep at a distance but Wei has taken the fight into the clinch.
Wei tries to work over Hynes's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Wei jumps guard.
Hynes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wei has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hynes has managed to get both his arms back between Wei's legs - danger averted.
Hynes really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wei. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wei looking for a sweep. Not yet Wei, not yet.
Hynes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Wei bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hynes's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Wei is looking to stand up but Hynes won't let him.

Hynes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wei is aware though and is defending well.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hynes can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wei slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Hynes looking to control.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hynes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wei as he jumps to the side.
Wei pushes Hynes up against the cage in a clinch.
Hynes is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wei to keep the fight standing.
Hynes has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Wei manages to break the clinch.

Hynes throws a right hand that Wei ducks under and follows up with a left that Wei also avoids with ease.
Wei throws a leg kick but Hynes sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Wei scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Wei has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Hynes throws a sloppy head kick and Wei moves out of range easily.
Hynes misses with a low kick.
Wei tries for a takedown but Hynes sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Wei lands a really nice looking cross but Hynes seems unphased.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Wei escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
