The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
GOl uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Azevedo Souza.
Azevedo Souza looks to throw the jab but GOl is out of range.

GOl moves into the clinch successfully.

Azevedo Souza's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

GOl rushes Azevedo Souza and presses him up against the cage.
Azevedo Souza lands with a short head shot on the inside.
GOl is trying to maintain a safe position but Azevedo Souza gets an underhook and turns GOl into the cage.
GOl tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Azevedo Souza avoids it.

Azevedo Souza escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Azevedo Souza keeps the fight on the outside.
GOl bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Azevedo Souza definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
GOl closes the distance but Azevedo Souza moves to the side
and Azevedo Souza counters with a nice uppercut.

GOl gets a clinch.
GOl tries to land knees in the clinch but Azevedo Souza avoids the damage to the body.

Azevedo Souza breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

GOl moves into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

GOl tries to clinch but Azevedo Souza moves out of range.

GOl pushes Azevedo Souza up against the cage in a clinch.

A battle for position here, against the cage.

Azevedo Souza pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
GOl wants to clinch up but Azevedo Souza keeps it at a distance.
Azevedo Souza was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Azevedo Souza lands a big uppercut and GOl crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but GOl looks OK. Azevedo Souza waves GOl back to his feet!

GOl is rocked!

It looks like Gera GOl has been cut.
GOl drops his hands momentarily. Azevedo Souza doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. GOl staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. GOl doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Raphael Azevedo Souza!
