PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sione Veainu (ranked 2458 p4p, 2983 weight class) and Virgil Earp (ranked 320 p4p, 385 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Earp lands.
Earp throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Veainu on the side of the head.
Veainu definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
A swing and a miss from Earp.
Veainu appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Earp misses the body punch
and Veainu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It looks like Virgil Earp has been cut.
Earp misses with a straight right.
It looked like Veainu wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Earp rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Veainu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Earp lands a nice shot to the body.

and Veainu counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Earp throws a lazy uppercut
enabling Veainu to counter with a crisp jab.

That has opened up Virgil Earp's cut even more.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Earp scores with a jab to the jaw.
Veainu walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Veainu misses with an uppercut. Earp saw that one coming.
Donk. Veainu catches Earp right on the button with a cross.
Earp's coach down at Monkey Magic was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Earp's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Earp throws an off balance right hand

and Veainu counters with a crisp right hand that drops Earp! Veainu lets Earp back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Earp is rocked!
Earp swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Veainu counters with a right hand from hell and Earp is out cold! A vicious knockout!
