PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luca Altieri (ranked 1571 p4p, 2828 weight class) and Linkavitch Chomofsky (ranked 211 p4p, 357 weight class). Chomofsky is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mastodon - Sleeping Giant. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Altieri shoots in for a takedown but Chomofsky shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Altieri pivots, looking for a leg kick but Chomofsky is out of range and Altieri settles back down.
Altieri doesn't manage to clinch there - Chomofsky circles away.
Chomofsky tries to score a power double leg takedown but Altieri sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chomofsky somewhat.
Altieri misses with a straight right.
Altieri throws a half hearted mid kick.
Chomofsky drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Altieri defends it well.

Chomofsky is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Altieri wants to control but Chomofsky is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Altieri wants to improve his position but Chomofsky is controlling well.

Chomofsky is trying to work for a kimura but Altieri is defending well.
Still in half guard, Chomofsky seems content to control.

Chomofsky is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Altieri is just riding it out for now. Chomofsky eventually gives up the hold.
Chomofsky is looking to stall here but Altieri recovers full guard.

Chomofsky is pressing down on Altieri's thigh, looking to free his foot. Altieri is holding on for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Chomofsky drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Altieri manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chomofsky has Altieri in his guard.

Altieri has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Chomofsky manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Altieri manages to get himself to full guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Chomofsky misses with a looping left.
Chomofsky shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Altieri but Altieri pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Chomofsky shoots in looking for a takedown. Altieri tries to sprawl out of it but Chomofsky keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Altieri manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Chomofsky's coach down at Gunner's School of Combat was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Chomofsky's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Altieri is trying to control. Chomofsky wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Chomofsky looking for a triangle here. Altieri is fighting it but it looks tight! Chomofsky pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Altieri is tapping out - this one is all over!
