The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mills clinches.
Mills gets underhooks to prevent Vilums's takedown attempt.
Vilums takes an elbow to the temple.
Mills tries to land a knee to the head but Vilums blocks with his arms.

Vilums gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Mills is looking to improve his position.
Mills is trying to escape back to his feet but Vilums uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Mills strikes from the bottom but Vilums takes advantage and advances to full mount!

Vilums with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Vilums is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Mills is surviving well by controlling Vilums's body position as best he can.
Mills told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

Vilums working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Mills turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Vilums off and cradles Mills's limp body as Vilums celebrates with his corner.
