Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sanka Aisland (ranked 5634 p4p, 3984 weight class) and Ani Kwata (ranked 627 p4p, 504 weight class). Sanka Aisland has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sanka Aisland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ani Kwata!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kwata manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Aisland on his heels. He'll look to pass Aisland's guard now, I'm sure.

Aisland looking for a guillotine here but Kwata defends easily.
Kwata is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Aisland working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kwata doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kwata manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Aisland wants to improve his position but instead Kwata has moved into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kwata looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Aisland has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kwata is working away from the top position though.
Aisland might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Aisland is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Aisland is trying to maintain the position but Kwata is very close to passing his half guard.
Kwata is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Aisland looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Aisland is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kwata scores with a couple of nice shots.
Aisland slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Kwata stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aisland swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aisland looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kwata has picked Aisland up and slammed him! Aisland can't keep hold of the triangle and Kwata manages to pass to side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Aisland looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Kwata scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Well, if Kwata is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Kwata really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aisland. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Aisland trying to control but Kwata postures up.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kwata is taking a breather. Aisland says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Aisland is trying to get back to full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ani Kwata dominated that round.
That's time! Aisland's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Aisland misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kwata.
Kwata fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Aisland manages to avoid it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kwata enables Aisland to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kwata manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Aisland trying to control the position from guard on top but Kwata is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Aisland is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kwata wants to sweep here but Aisland controlling him for the moment.
Aisland advances position into side control!

Aisland tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Aisland has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Ani Kwata has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aisland works to advance to full mount. Kwata defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Aisland fails to take his opponent's back.
Aisland throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Kwata is trying to escape the mount.

Aisland working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Kwata looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Aisland! Submission of the night perhaps?

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Sanka Aisland!
