Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Brock (ranked 6503 p4p, 6082 weight class) and Fauni Figueroa (ranked 700 p4p, 669 weight class). Fauni Figueroa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Brock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fauni Figueroa !
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brock cracks Figueroa with an open hand slap.
Figueroa jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Brock throws a body punch but Figueroa moves out of range.
Brock slips a jab from Figueroa .
Figueroa moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Brock takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nice uppercut lands for Figueroa . That snapped Brock's head back.
Brock misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Figueroa .
Figueroa jabs Brock right on the nose. Brock blinks but takes it well.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Figueroa has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Brock leaves Figueroa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Brock uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Figueroa .
Brock swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Figueroa misses with a straight left.
Figueroa lands a jab to the nose.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brock drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Figueroa is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Brock lands a nice shot to the body.

Figueroa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brock smiles and moves away.

Brock has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Figueroa regains guard immediately.
Figueroa is looking to stand back up but Brock counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Figueroa .
Brock is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Brock looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Figueroa can do anything to dispel that myth.

Brock is looking to take a break and control but Figueroa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Figueroa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Brock looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Brock trying to mount his opponent but Figueroa defends it.
Brock wants to take a breather but Figueroa is having none of it.

Brock has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Figueroa takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Fauni Figueroa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brock takes a swing at Figueroa 's ribcage but misses.
Figueroa misses with a jab, cross combination.
Figueroa punishes Brock's body with a nice straight punch.
Figueroa throws out a loose jab but Brock uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brock throws a big counter combination but Figueroa scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Brock manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Figueroa manages to get himself to full guard.
Brock makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Brock's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brock lands a couple of elbows.
Figueroa is still in real trouble! Can Brock finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brock accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Brock makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Brock is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Figueroa has momentary wrist control but Brock slips an elbow through the middle.
Brock is in close to Figueroa 's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Brock throws a strike but Figueroa rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Figueroa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Figueroa seems to have recovered his senses.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brock is on top in guard.
Figueroa is wriggling around but Brock manages to pass to half guard.
Brock throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Brock takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Eddie Brock overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Brock lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Figueroa quite badly. Figueroa pulls Brock in close trying to recover. Brock postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Figueroa on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Figueroa doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eddie Brock!
