PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Domaydo Cann (ranked 2912 p4p, 22618 weight class) and Emilio Porter (ranked 383 p4p, 700 weight class). Porter has chosen Cambodia as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Porter shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cann napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Cann throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Cann shoots in looking for a takedown. Porter tries to sprawl out of it but Cann keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Porter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cann looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Cann defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Porter.
Cann throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cann tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Porter defends well and Cann ends up having to push Porter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Porter struggles to land a body shot inside as Cann controls his hands.

Porter drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Porter is struggling to control the position.

Domaydo Cann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Emilio Porter.
Cann lands a nice looking body shot.
Porter tries to clinch but Cann moves out of range.

Cann shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Porter is trying to defend but Cann finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Porter is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cann scores with a couple of nice shots.
Cann throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Cann is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Porter to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Cann is looking to work some ground and pound but Porter has wrist control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Porter can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cann trying to control the position from guard on top but Porter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cann throws a big elbow that misses.
Cann throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Porter preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Porter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cann makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Cann with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cann is in close to Porter's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Cann is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Porter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cann. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Porter is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cann is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Porter defends well.
Porter with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Porter is sitting in close to Cann's body. Cann has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Porter is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Porter is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Cann.
