Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Hamada (ranked 2968 p4p, 3966 weight class) and Bea Mason (ranked 368 p4p, 458 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryo Hamada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bea Mason!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mason shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hamada pinned against the cage. Hamada gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mason stuffs the takedown attempt from Hamada. Hamada gets slowly back to his feet.

Mason changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hamada looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hamada sneaks out the side door and pushes Mason away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Hamada throws a body shot but no joy.
Hamada throws a head kick but Mason moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mason ducks under a wild hook from Hamada.
Mason dodges the punch combination from Hamada.
Hamada cracks Mason with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Hamada throws a nice outside leg kick.
Hamada is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mason.
Hamada has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Doom's Gym in the buildup to the fight.

Hamada gets the takedown into side control.

Hamada tries to score with some ground and pound. Mason controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Hamada has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Mason takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Mason tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Hamada closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mason's guard.

Mason manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hamada manages to get himself to full guard.

Mason throws a big elbow that misses.
Hamada has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hamada tries to kick Mason off but Mason keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Mason is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hamada defends it well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Hamada bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mason's guard.

Mason is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hamada wants to get up but he can't break Mason's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Hamada throws a strike but Mason rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

That's time! Hamada's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Mason shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hamada but Hamada pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hamada feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hamada is working Mason over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mason wants to control but Hamada is keeping him busy.

Hamada is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mason's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mason's back!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Mason throws a low kick, looking for Hamada's leg but Hamada calmly moves out of range.

Mason is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hamada's half guard.

Hamada makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hamada is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Hamada is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mason is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Hamada to the mat. Hamada regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Hamada thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hamada postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mason is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hamada, into his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hamada accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ryo Hamada is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Hamada has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
