The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slaughter misses with a hook.
Slaughter fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Brooks manages to avoid it.
Brooks wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Slaughter connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Brooks closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

I was talking to Brooks's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Brooks tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Brooks tries a knee to the head but Slaughter blocks it.
Brooks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Slaughter lands a big right hand that sends Brooks crashing to the mat! Slaughter stays standing though and waves Brooks back to his feet!

Brooks is rocked!
Slaughter lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Brooks head around and knocks him out cold! Slaughter hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
