PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mac Anudo (ranked 3944 p4p, 4087 weight class) and Eli Vieira (ranked 502 p4p, 515 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Mac Anudo has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mac Anudo seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vieira tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Anudo swivels and escapes.

Vieira shoots in looking for a takedown. Anudo tries to sprawl out of it but Vieira keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Anudo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Anudo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vieira must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Anudo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Vieira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Vieira manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Anudo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vieira can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
