PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roder Control (ranked 1173 p4p, 387 weight class) and Padraig Ahearn (ranked 37 p4p, 12 weight class). Control has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Roder Control has been cut.
A jab from Ahearn misses.
Control misses the body punch
and Ahearn counters with a series of strikes. Control will be more careful next time no doubt.
Control is breathing heavily.
Control gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Control throws a right hand that misses
and Ahearn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Control waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Ahearn.
It seemed like Ahearn was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Nice body punch from Ahearn.
Ahearn scores with a sloppy right hand. Control should have avoided that one.

Ahearn bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Control! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Oh Control is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ahearn drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Ahearn seems to have locked his on tight now - Control screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Ahearn, as he picks up the win!
