The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faolin throws a body punch but Watkins moves out of range.
Faolin scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

It looks like Carvel Watkins has been cut.
Watkins looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Faolin is fending him off so far but Watkins persists. Nope, Faolin circles away and we're back to standing.
Watkins tries to clinch there but Faolin circles away.
Watkins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Faolin moves away.

Joey Faolin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Faolin has closed the distance and engaged Watkins in a clinch.
Watkins is looking to break free of the clinch but Faolin has double underhooks.
Watkins is trying to pull guard but Faolin has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nice body punch from Faolin - that landed with a thud.
Watkins looks winded!

Faolin digs a right hand into Watkins's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Watkins's gas tank.

Faolin sends Watkins crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Faolin is motioning to the referee to let Watkins up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Watkins is rocked!
Faolin looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Faolin ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Watkins is still on wobbly legs! Can Faolin finish him?
Faolin lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Watkins up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Faolin from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Watkins's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
