Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Murtaz Vatsadze (ranked 912 p4p, 351 weight class) and Maurice Tillet (ranked 144 p4p, 53 weight class). Vatsadze's entrance music is Guerilla Radio/ R.A.M.. A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Murtaz Vatsadze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Maurice Tillet!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tillet misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Vatsadze.
Vatsadze was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Tillet lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vatsadze circles away quickly and effectively.
Vatsadze is looking to counter the offense by Tillet and move into the clinch.

Tillet throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Vatsadze tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tillet is in Vatsadze's guard.
Tillet postures up in Vatsadze's guard and throws a big left but Vatsadze blocks it.
Vatsadze is adopting a defensive guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tillet accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Tillet working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Vatsadze controls Tillet momentarily but Tillet frees himself.
Tillet is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Vatsadze knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tillet on the ground.
Tillet is fighting to break Vatsadze's control of his arms but Vatsadze is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Tillet drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tillet jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Vatsadze wants to sweep but no luck.
Tillet lands a couple of digs.
Tillet is looking to work some ground and pound but Vatsadze has wrist control.
Tillet has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Tillet seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Vatsadze manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tillet manages to get himself to full guard.

Vatsadze is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Tillet doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tillet is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Tillet lands a nice short elbow.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Maurice Tillet dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Vatsadze doesn't manage to clinch there - Tillet circles away.
Vatsadze lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tillet circles away quickly and effectively.
Tillet tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Vatsadze was well out of range. Poor timing from Tillet.

Vatsadze gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Vatsadze on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vatsadze tries to get out of the position.
Tillet lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Tillet slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Vatsadze tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Tillet has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Tillet looks up at the clock and then as Vatsadze takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tillet smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Vatsadze is rocked!
A big shot lands for Tillet! That's hurt Vatsadze! Will he recover? Tillet fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Maurice Tillet!
A victorious Maurice Tillet thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
Murtaz Vatsadze spoke after the fight, saying 'Props to my opponent, you know me I'll go kick some ass and be right back challenging. '.
