Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Lucas Iv!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Satoshi Ekaku!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ekaku works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Ekaku throws a leg kick that is checked
and Lucas Iv counters with a takedown into side control.
Lucas Iv looking to control but instead Ekaku has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Ekaku is staying active underneath Lucas Iv, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lucas Iv connects with a nice short shot to Ekaku's temple.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lucas Iv shoots in looking for a takedown. Ekaku tries to sprawl out of it but Lucas Iv keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ekaku manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lucas Iv's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ekaku connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lucas Iv scrambles back to his feet.
Lucas Iv tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ekaku defends well and Lucas Iv ends up having to push Ekaku into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ekaku is pushing Lucas Iv up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Lucas Iv throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ekaku's waist but Ekaku gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lucas Iv off to one side.
Ekaku looks to score with a jab to the body but Lucas Iv is just out of range.
Ekaku lands with a nice body kick.

Ekaku connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Lucas Iv dives in and grabs Ekaku's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ekaku pushes down on Lucas Iv's head and hops out.

The fight stays on the outside here - Lucas Iv looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
