PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Huwan Bagwis (ranked 570 p4p, 1115 weight class) and Pertti Naulakko (ranked 79 p4p, 153 weight class). Naulakko has chosen Amon Amarth - First Kill as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Huwan Bagwis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pertti Naulakko!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Skip Squint and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bagwis throws a shot from downtown. Naulakko moves away and avoids it.
Bagwis bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
We've been told by Bagwis's head coaches at Clark's Champion's that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Bagwis ducks under a wild hook from Naulakko.
Bagwis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bagwis punishes Naulakko's body with a nice straight punch.
Bagwis staying out of range there.
Bagwis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Naulakko was well out of range. Poor timing from Bagwis.
Naulakko sizes up Bagwis with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Naulakko lands a jab.
A slow jab from Naulakko misses its intended target.
Bagwis wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Naulakko misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Bagwis counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Naulakko thinking.
Some wild striking there from Bagwis.
Naulakko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A swing and a miss from Bagwis.
Bagwis scores with a jab to the body.
Naulakko throws a hook to the side of Bagwis's head but Bagwis sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A big right from Naulakko misses.
Naulakko misses with an uppercut. Bagwis saw that one coming.
Naulakko misses with a straight right.
Pertti Naulakko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bagwis pivots, looking for a leg kick but Naulakko is out of range and Bagwis settles back down.
Jab, jab by Bagwis - just one landing.
Bagwis's corner calls for a 1-2. Bagwis obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A low kick from Naulakko is predictable there
letting Bagwis counter with a right hand.
Naulakko moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Naulakko swings widly with a right hand
and Bagwis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Naulakko misses with a looping left.
Bagwis on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Naulakko fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Bagwis checks it well.

Bagwis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bagwis lands a nice shot that snaps Naulakko's head back.
Bagwis keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bagwis checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Naulakko misses with a few strikes there.
Bagwis listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Naulakko takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Bagwis lands a nice shot that snaps Naulakko's head back.

Naulakko is rocked!
Bagwis is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Naulakko walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Naulakko is still on wobbly legs! Can Bagwis finish him?
Bagwis lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Naulakko up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Bagwis from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Naulakko's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Huwan Bagwis!
Huwan Bagwis tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
