Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kermit Archer (ranked 234 p4p, 278 weight class) and Valentin Taneyev (ranked 34 p4p, 43 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kermit Archer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, Valentin Taneyev!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Archer lands a nice hook to Taneyev's body. Taneyev takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Taneyev throws a body punch but Archer moves out of range.
Archer ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Taneyev looks to land a right hand but Archer moved out of range.
It appears Archer was looking to counter with a kick there.
Archer shoots for a double leg takedown but Taneyev sprawls well. He's pushed Archer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Taneyev! But no joy.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Taneyev crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Archer - the referee stops the clock and Taneyev gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Archer. Taneyev manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Archer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Taneyev swivels and escapes.

Taneyev is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Archer has just dragged him back down to the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taneyev wants to stand and escape but Archer is having none of it.
Taneyev is wriggling around but Archer manages to pass to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
