The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormier keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Labryn doesn't manage to clinch there - Cormier circles away.
Labryn shoots for a double leg takedown but Cormier sprawls well. He's pushed Labryn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cormier takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Cormier shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Cormier showed some decent athleticism there.
Labryn has hold of Cormier's hands but Cormier slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Cormier lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Ground and pound from Cormier.
Cormier slips a nice elbow through Labryn's hands, connecting with Labryn's forehead.
Cormier looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cormier lands strikes from half guard.

Labryn is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cormier is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Labryn is hurt! He's hurt bad - Cormier fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Labryn from any more punishment! Congratulations to Cormier! Great finish!
