This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 12 losses; Juu Dyon! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 20 wins and 15 losses; Bjj Steel!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Frank Antenori.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?

Dyon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Steel is looking for a sweep.
Steel is not content to let Dyon control the position.
Dyon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Steel is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Dyon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Steel tries to bench press Dyon off him but Dyon keeps the position.

Steel has control of Dyon's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Dyon regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Steel has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dyon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dyon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dyon uses his free foot to push down on Steel's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Steel.

Steel is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Dyon jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Steel manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Dyon works his foot free and advances to mount.

Dyon wants to control from the top but Steel keeps moving.

Dyon wants to free his trapped foot but Steel is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A very excited looking Juu Dyon rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
