Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Hansen (ranked 3516 p4p, 4322 weight class) and Max Payne (ranked 430 p4p, 506 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hansen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Black Sabbath - Iron Man. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payne fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Payne misses with an uppercut. Hansen saw that one coming.
Hansen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Payne wants to clinch up but Hansen keeps it at a distance.
Hansen has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Hansen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Payne tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hansen swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Payne tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hansen manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hansen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Payne tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hansen is in Payne's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hansen lands a couple of good shots and Payne has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is taking a good look at Payne as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Hansen!
