Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 17 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Don Johns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Watchman Nee!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Johns has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Nee shoots for a double leg takedown but Johns sprawls well. He's pushed Nee's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Johns has closed the distance and engaged Nee in a clinch.

Johns goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Nee decides to stand back up. Nee steps back and let's Johns get back to his feet.

Nee is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Johns has managed to free his arm - good work.

Johns pushes Nee off looking to stand but Nee dives back in and keeps control.
Nee prevents Johns from improving his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Johns is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Nee is aware though and is defending well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Johns is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Nee pulls his head out easily.

Johns is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Nee asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Johns gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Don Johns will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Nee shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johns but Johns pushes him off and we're back to square one.
It looked like Johns wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Nee goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Johns has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Nee but great work by Johns.

Watchman Nee is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johns throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Johns takes a swing at Nee's ribcage but misses.
Johns misses with a body shot.
Nee swats away the attempt to clinch by Johns.
Nee unleashes a big counter combination but Johns bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Johns misses with a head kick.
Nee changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Nee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Johns tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Nee is in Johns's guard.

Nee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johns has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nee has managed to get both his arms back between Johns's legs - danger averted.
Nee is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Don Johns will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Johns throws a series of punches but Nee moves out of range.
Johns fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nee looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Johns moves in looking to clinch but Nee pushes him off.

Johns rushes Nee and presses him up against the cage.
Johns is trying to drag Nee to the mat but Nee just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Johns is trying to pull guard but Nee has him pressed against the cage.

Nee breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Johns sizes up Nee with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Johns lands with a hook. Nee tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Nee avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Nee counters with a good, hard body kick but Johns shrugs it off.

Nee gets control of Johns's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nee will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Johns will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Don Johns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Watchman Nee.

Watchman Nee has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Don Johns is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johns, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
