The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thai tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ecker swivels and escapes.
Ecker misses with a left hand

and Thai counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ecker won't be happy with that.

Thai is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ecker is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Thai looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Ecker is trying to control Thai's posture but Thai avoids it.

Thai tries for a kimura but Ecker is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thai goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ecker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Thai but great work by Ecker.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ecker connects with a nice short shot to Thai's temple.
