Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Martins (ranked 5936 p4p, 24881 weight class) and Gamba Osaka (ranked 424 p4p, 492 weight class). The key to victory for Thomas Martins has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Martins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gamba Osaka!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martins has taken the fight to the clinch.

Osaka escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Osaka darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Osaka slows the pace down in half guard.
Osaka trying to control the action but Martins is working from the bottom.
Osaka should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Osaka has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Martins regains guard immediately.
