Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Long Thai (ranked 2904 p4p, 2448 weight class) and Glen Hoddle (ranked 358 p4p, 314 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 24 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Long Thai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glen Hoddle!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thai throws a chopping leg kick but Hoddle manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Hoddle rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Thai connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Hoddle is trying hard to land a takedown here. Thai sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Thai is looking to counter punch.
Thai has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hoddle.
A jab from Hoddle finds it's way through Thai's defenses.

Hoddle works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hoddle is fighting to break Thai's control of his arms but Thai is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hoddle is looking to work some ground and pound but Thai has wrist control.

Thai is looking to stand back up but Hoddle counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Thai.

Thai is looking for a sweep. Hoddle is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hoddle connects with a nice short shot to Thai's temple.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hoddle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are battling for position here. Thai manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Glen Hoddle dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Hoddle tries for a takedown but Thai sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hoddle tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thai was well out of range. Poor timing from Hoddle.
Hoddle connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Thai momentarily.
Hoddle throws out a loose jab but Thai uses good head movement to avoid it.

Thai seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Hoddle clobbers Thai with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Thai gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Hoddle has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Thai is trying to keep an underhook but Hoddle manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Thai manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hoddle manages to get himself to full guard.

Thai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hoddle swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hoddle is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Thai rolls with it to try and escape but Hoddle cranks on the arm and Thai is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Glen Hoddle!
Glen Hoddle decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
