Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andre Powell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Mills!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Powell takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Powell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mills swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Powell counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Edward Mills has been cut.
Mills misses with a lunging right hand
and Powell counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mills walks into a straight right hand from Powell.
Powell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mills circles away quickly and effectively.
A combination from Mills does no damage.
Mills throws a looping overhand right but Powell ducks down to avoid it.
Mills misses with a body shot.
Powell slips a jab from Mills.
A counter left hand to the body from Powell misses its target.
Edward Mills seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mills misses with a body kick.
An attempted straight right counter from Powell misses the target.
Powell lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Mills goes down and covers up as Powell starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Andre Powell!
