PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Naoyuki Nakano (ranked 1817 p4p, 1741 weight class) and Kree P Krawlee (ranked 194 p4p, 184 weight class). Krawlee has chosen Sail as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Naoyuki Nakano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kree P Krawlee!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakano slips a jab from Krawlee.
Nakano takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Nakano finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Krawlee swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Krawlee takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Good standup being displayed there by Nakano as he connects with a hook.
Krawlee throws a hook but Nakano blocks it.
Krawlee fails with a takedown attempt.

Nakano fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

As Krawlee tries to get set, Nakano tries to push him back and clinch up but Krawlee manages to avoid the attempt.

Krawlee misses with a takedown attempt - Nakano sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Krawlee has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nakano regains guard immediately.

Krawlee wants to pass the guard but Nakano is keeping the position.
Nakano wants to get back to his feet but Krawlee is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Nakano has control of Krawlee's left arm, preventing Krawlee from doing any damage.
Nakano seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Krawlee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nakano swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Nakano fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Krawlee has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

and Krawlee counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Krawlee is looking to pass into half guard but Nakano pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Nakano is in guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Krawlee is on top in guard.

Krawlee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nakano swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nakano is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Krawlee can do to turn this around?

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Krawlee will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
