Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mitsu Misawa (ranked 6336 p4p, 3612 weight class) and Blade Wolf (ranked 595 p4p, 414 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Misawa tries to clinch up but Wolf circles away and keeps his distance.
Wolf changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Misawa blocks a jab.
Misawa is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Misawa closes the distance and clinches.
Misawa lands an elbow inside.

It looks like Blade Wolf has been cut.
I was talking to Misawa's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Wolf pushes off an throws an elbow but Misawa leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Wolf tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Wolf can't find room to land a body shot as Misawa controls the action.

Misawa is pressed up against the cage. Wolf has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Misawa down to the mat. Misawa avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Mitsu Misawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Misawa seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
