Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raminus Polus (ranked 621 p4p, 1282 weight class) and Rob Bernard (ranked 100 p4p, 169 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raminus Polus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rob Bernard! The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Polus shoots in looking for a takedown. Bernard tries to sprawl out of it but Polus keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bernard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bernard scores with a nice strike. Bernard avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bernard looks like he wants to counter punch here. Bernard throws a lazy right hand but Polus sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Polus misses with a body shot.
Polus dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Bernard misses with a hook. Polus ducked under it nicely. Polus connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Bernard has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Polus finds it's way round the side to connect with Bernard's head. Bernard lands a lovely overhand right.
 It looks like Raminus Polus has been cut. Polus connects with a single shot there. Polus slips a jab and a cross from Bernard.
Polus feinted with a counter takedown. Polus lands a jab to Bernard's midsection. Bernard misses with a looping left. Polus looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Bernard scores with a nice strike. Polus throws a series of punches but Bernard moves out of range. Polus slips a jab from Bernard.
Bernard moves into the clinch. Bernard looks to throw an elbow but misses.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bernard fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

A frustrated look appears on Bernard's face as he tries to break the clinch. Polus misses with a hook to the ribs.

Bernard throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Polus has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bernard uses from the top position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bernard trying to control but Polus is working from the bottom.

Polus wants to free his trapped foot but Bernard is holding on for dear life with his legs. Polus with the ground and pound but Bernard uses the opportunity to regain guard. Polus trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Polus postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bernard is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Polus, into his guard.
 Bernard must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Polus tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Polus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Polus fails to land a wild elbow strike.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Bernard wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Bernard throws a hook but Polus avoids it easily. Polus tries to counter with a takedown but Bernard is quick to defend against it. A punch lands to the side of Polus 's head but he takes it in his stride. Bernard throws a shot from downtown. Polus moves away and avoids it. Polus tries to clinch but Bernard moves out of range. Bernard fails to land with a series of punches.

Bernard's jab looks to have found its range, popping Polus under the eye. Polus thows a left - swing and a miss! Polus takes one on the button. Polus is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. An uppercut to the body lands inside from Bernard. Bernard swings wildly with an uppercut but Polus uses good head movement to avoid it. A short uppercut from Polus.

Raminus Polus is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Bernard scores with an uppercut up the middle. Bernard tries to throw a body punch but Polus avoids it by throwing Bernard back against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Bernard fails to land. Bernard misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Bernard tries to work over Polus's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Bernard is trying to push Polus away but Polus has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Bernard misses with the head strike.

Rob Bernard seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Bernard is working Polus over against the cage. Bernard misses with some punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bernard misses with a punch to the body.

And that's the end of the fight! Rob Bernard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Polus has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
