The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hakimi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hakimi gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hakimi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hakimi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Akkaynak moves away.
Akkaynak half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Hakimi throws a combination that misses

and Akkaynak counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Akkaynak content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Akkaynak scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Akkaynak is trying to control the action in half guard but Hakimi is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Akkaynak connects with a nice short shot to Hakimi's temple.

Akkaynak has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Akkaynak drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Akkaynak jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
