Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jean Pierdot (ranked 4796 p4p, 4794 weight class) and Yuri Kazushi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jean Pierdot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yuri Kazushi!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazushi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Kazushi stuffs the takedown.
Kazushi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pierdot.
Pierdot shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kazushi defends it nicely.
As Pierdot backs off Kazushi throws a huge counter combo but Pierdot manages to avoid it all.

Kazushi lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Pierdot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kazushi keeps working.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kazushi is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Pierdot's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Pierdot wants to take a breather but Kazushi is having none of it.
Pierdot is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kazushi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Pierdot gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Pierdot stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pierdot wants it to stay on the feet.
Kazushi avoids the head kick by Pierdot.
Pierdot tries to clinch there but Kazushi circles away.
Pierdot keeps the fight on the outside.
Pierdot is looking to counter the offense by Kazushi and move into the clinch.

Kazushi is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Pierdot is defending well.

Pierdot moves in looking to clinch but Kazushi pushes him off.

Kazushi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pierdot avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Kazushi's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Kazushi blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Kazushi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Kazushi tries to pull guard but Pierdot holds him up against the cage and eventually Kazushi drops back down to his feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kazushi goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pierdot prevents it.

Kazushi jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pierdot walks away with a smile on his face. Kazushi gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kazushi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pierdot tries to avoid it but Kazushi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pierdot to the ground. Pierdot escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pierdot is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kazushi can do to turn this around?

and Kazushi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Pierdot.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jean Pierdot will probably get the nod.

Pierdot misses with a takedown attempt - Kazushi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kazushi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pierdot moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kazushi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

No joy there for Pierdot, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Pierdot gets control of Kazushi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Pierdot will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kazushi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pierdot tries to avoid it but Kazushi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pierdot to the ground. Pierdot escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
It looked like Pierdot wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Pierdot dives in and grabs Kazushi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kazushi pushes down on Pierdot's head and hops out.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pierdot shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kazushi but Kazushi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kazushi throws a nice looking combination but Pierdot bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Yuri Kazushi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jean Pierdot is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Kazushi looks to land a combination but Pierdot avoids it well.

Yuri Kazushi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Pierdot has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
