Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Shawn Low!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Burroughs!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burroughs uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Low.
Low throws a right hand that misses
and Burroughs counters with a stiff right hand.
Burroughs staying out of range there.
A big right from Low misses.
Burroughs now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Low misses with an uppercut
and Burroughs counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Low misses with a right hand
and Burroughs counters with a nice uppercut.
Low misses with a hook
and Burroughs counters with a nice uppercut.
Low throws a hook to the side of Burroughs's head but Burroughs sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Burroughs scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Burroughs seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Low avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Burroughs.
Burroughs takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Burroughs is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Low is just riding it out for now. Burroughs eventually gives up the hold.
Burroughs winds up and cracks Low with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Low wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Burroughs looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Low with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Low is trying to stand.
Burroughs slips a nice elbow through Low's hands, connecting with Low's forehead.

Low is rocked!
Burroughs has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Burroughs is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Low is hurt! He's hurt bad - Burroughs fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Low from any more punishment! Congratulations to Burroughs! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jimmy Burroughs!
After the fight, Jimmy Burroughs was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
