PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between William Snowdon (ranked 355 p4p, 362 weight class) and Valerio Bartoli (ranked 57 p4p, 58 weight class). Bartoli has chosen Modulate - Bass Alert as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, William Snowdon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Valerio Bartoli!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snowdon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Snowdon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Bartoli is defending against the submission attempts here by Snowdon.
Bartoli won't allow Snowdon to pass to mount.

Snowdon is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Bartoli has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Snowdon is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Bartoli defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Snowdon is persistently looking for the submission but Bartoli is defending it well.

Snowdon seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Bartoli's chin but Bartoli turns very nicely into Snowdon's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Bartoli.

Snowdon has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bartoli is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Snowdon.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that William Snowdon will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Snowdon shoots in looking for a takedown but Bartoli manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Snowdon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Snowdon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bartoli's guard.
Bartoli wants to stand but Snowdon is controlling the position.

Snowdon drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bartoli dives on top into guard.


Snowdon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bartoli is aware though and is defending well.

Bartoli gets to his feet - Snowdon follows without any prompting.
Bartoli throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Snowdon closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bartoli tries to kick Snowdon off in order to stand up. Snowdon Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bartoli regains half guard there - taking advantage of Snowdon's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Snowdon seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Bartoli has recovered full guard.

Snowdon drops back, looking for a kneebar! Bartoli looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Bartoli looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Bartoli!

Bartoli is in a bad position with Snowdon working for a choke. Bartoli manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.

Bartoli shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Snowdon eats them both and turns towards Bartoli to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Snowdon.
Bartoli throws out a counter right but Snowdon avoids it with no problem.
Bartoli looks to throw the jab but Snowdon is out of range.
Snowdon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Snowdon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Snowdon. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Oh Snowdon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bartoli has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bartoli takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Bartoli pounces like a tiger and cracks Snowdon with a vicious hook! Snowdon is down but not out! Bartoli follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Valerio Bartoli!
