Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, DeMario Valdez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pawel Nastula!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nastula misses with a takedown attempt
letting Valdez counter with a right hand.
Valdez scores with a hook to the body. Nastula takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Nastula tries to score a power double leg takedown but Valdez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nastula somewhat.
Nastula fails with an attempt to clinch.
Valdez lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Valdez connects with the punch.
Valdez lands with a kick to the temple. Nastula shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

DeMario Valdez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pawel Nastula.
Valdez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Nastula momentarily.

and Valdez counters with a solid body kick.

Valdez cracks Nastula with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Valdez clinches up with Nastula and pushes him back against the cage.
Nastula is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Valdez makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Valdez is pressed up against the cage. Nastula has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Valdez down to the mat. Valdez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Valdez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Nastula looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Nastula takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

and Valdez counters with a lovely straight right hand!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Valdez has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Silverback MMA in the buildup to the fight.

Nastula tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Valdez pounces like a tiger and cracks Nastula with a vicious hook! Nastula is down but not out! Valdez follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
