Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nate Diaz (ranked 5971 p4p, 4062 weight class) and Sakai Tzu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nate Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sakai Tzu!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tzu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tzu is looking for a sweep.
Diaz trying to control the action but Tzu is working from the bottom.
Diaz has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Diaz manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tzu on his heels. He'll look to pass Tzu's guard now, I'm sure.
Tzu throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Diaz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tzu has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diaz has managed to get both his arms back between Tzu's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Diaz looking to sit in guard and control but Tzu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Diaz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tzu on the ground.
Diaz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tzu is controlling him.

Diaz is striking off his back. Tzu thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Diaz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tzu pulls his head out easily.
Tzu is thwarting Diaz's attempts to control the position.
Tzu stalling away here and it's allowed Diaz to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Tzu wants to take a breather but Diaz is having none of it.
Tzu is pressing down on Diaz's thigh, looking to free his foot. Diaz is holding on for now.
Diaz is trying to control but can't.
Diaz is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Diaz wants to improve his position but Tzu is controlling well.

Diaz is squirming around, avoiding Tzu's attempts to control the action.

Well, with Tzu on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Diaz is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Diaz fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tzu to the ground. Diaz is now in Tzu's guard.
Tzu is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Diaz defends well.
Diaz looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Diaz wants to stand but Tzu is controlling his posture from full guard.
Tzu escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Diaz gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tzu is on top in guard.
Diaz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Diaz looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Tzu puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Tzu is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Diaz!

Diaz is controlling an arm, preventing Tzu from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Tzu can't control as he wanted to and Diaz manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Diaz doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Diaz wants to clinch.
Tzu is looking for the big counter here.
Tzu gets caught flat footed, as Diaz shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tzu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Diaz's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Sakai Tzu will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Diaz's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
