PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ginger Jesus (ranked 6581 p4p, 2318 weight class) and Naoise Durnin (ranked 667 p4p, 284 weight class). Jesus comes into the arena with Jesus Walks BY-KANYE WEST blaring out of the sound system. Durnin has chosen I'm Shipping Up To Boston by The Dropkick Murphy's as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jesus looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Durnin has Jesus up against the cage in a clinch.
Durnin lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Durnin scores with a nice hook to the head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Durnin.
Jesus digs a right hand into Durnin's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Durnin's gas tank.
Durnin lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Jesus can't find room to land a body shot as Durnin controls the action.
Durnin lands a shoulder strike.
Durnin with a knee to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jesus takes an elbow to the forehead.
Durnin throws a knee to the head but misses.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jesus.

Jesus tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Durnin tries a body shot but Jesus blocks it.
Durnin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jesus's elbow.

Durnin keeps control of Jesus as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Durnin has Jesus pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Jesus is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Durnin - that's hurt Jesus badly! Oh, another knee lands and Jesus is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Jesus doesn't seem to be complaining.
