PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between BC Smith (ranked 1692 p4p, 5499 weight class) and Jerome Winters (ranked 204 p4p, 524 weight class). Winters has chosen Avatar - Colossus as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winters takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Smith lands a head shot.

Smith cracks Winters with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smith cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Smith goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Winters is on top in guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith punishes Winters with strikes from the back mount.
Winters covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Winters turns into Smith and is now in his guard.
Smith is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Smith is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Winters defends well.

Smith is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Winters wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

Smith lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Our spies down at at Canucks Combat Club inform us that Winters has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Smith drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Winters manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Smith has Winters in his guard.

Smith seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Smith is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Winters is aware though and is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

BC Smith dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

A quick step to the side and Smith tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Smith lands a hook that snaps the head of Winters backwards.
Winters has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smith is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Winters changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Smith fights it off and pushes away nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Jerome Winters has been cut.
Winters is working for takedown but Smith is calmly controlling the position for now.
BC Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jerome Winters.

Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Winters doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.
Smith lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Winters wants to control but Smith is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Smith moves into full mount! Winters won't be happy about that!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Winters is rocked!
Smith loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Winters scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Smith land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Smith stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). BC Smith!
A relieved looking BC Smith thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
