PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adams Bricks (ranked 1304 p4p, 1438 weight class) and Roder Control (ranked 42 p4p, 21 weight class). Roder Control told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adams Bricks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roder Control!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Eliza Hachem and Ron Honeybunn.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Control misses the target.
Control misses with a hook
and Bricks makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Control looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Bricks takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bricks on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Control throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Bricks swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Control cracks Bricks with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Control has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bricks to stand back up!

Bricks is rocked!

Control misses with a left hand
and Bricks counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Roder Control has been cut.
Bricks keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Control.
Bricks swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Control throws a hook to the side of Bricks's head but Bricks sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Control lands with a good body shot.
Control misses with a hook.
Bricks moves away from the strike by Control.
Control throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bricks is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Bricks defending well as Control loads up on a big left hand.
Bricks throwing a counter right hand but Control manages to avoid it.
Bricks missing with a left hand there. Control was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Control jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bricks keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Control.
The fighters circling - Control throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Bricks connects with a nice looking jab.
Control takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Roder Control seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Bricks counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Bricks counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Control misses the jab.
Bricks has been working on his boxing with his coaches at BLK Elite MMA Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Control throws a shot from downtown. Bricks moves away and avoids it.
Bricks will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Control's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bricks connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Control scrambles back to his feet.
Bricks throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Control is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Control moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Control throws a jab when Bricks was well out of range.
Bricks steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Control.

Bricks looks to land a combination. Control sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and Bricks counters with a huge left! Control is in big trouble! He's backing up but Bricks isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Control from any more damage. A dominating finish by Bricks!
