Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Orange Cassidy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Pulver!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cassidy gets a takedown into half guard.

Pulver makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Pulver scores with a push kick.
Cassidy swings for the body but Pulver moves out of range.
Cassidy definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Pulver enables Cassidy to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pulver manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pulver tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pulver is trying to control the position but Cassidy postures up.

Cassidy drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pulver dives on top into guard.

Pulver must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pulver trying to control but Cassidy is working from the bottom.
Cassidy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Cassidy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cassidy tries to get out of the position.
Pulver wants to control from the top but Cassidy keeps moving.
Cassidy has control of Pulver's left arm, preventing Pulver from doing any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pulver pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cassidy is keeping the position for now.
Cassidy controlling the position.
Cassidy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Pulver connects with a couple of short punches.
Cassidy looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Pulver puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Cassidy is trying to get back to full guard.
Cassidy is not content to let Pulver control the position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pulver connects with a nice short shot to Cassidy's temple.

Cassidy is trying to maintain the position but Pulver is very close to passing his half guard.
Cassidy gets back to full guard.
Pulver pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cassidy is keeping the position for now.
Pulver throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cassidy controlling the position.

Cassidy is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Cassidy looking for a triangle here. Pulver is fighting it but it looks tight! Cassidy pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Pulver is tapping out - this one is all over!
