The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson shoots in for a takedown but Chi Split shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Good standup being displayed there by Chi Split as he connects with a hook.
Thompson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chi Split pinned against the cage. Chi Split gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chi Split slaps away a takedown attempt from Thompson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Narch Chi Split has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bird Thompson.
Thompson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chi Split is fending him off so far but Thompson persists. Nope, Chi Split circles away and we're back to standing.
Chi Split lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Thompson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Thompson shoots in but no luck this time.

Chi Split lands a big right hand that sends Thompson crashing to the mat! Chi Split stays standing though and waves Thompson back to his feet!

Thompson is rocked!

It looks like Bird Thompson has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thompson is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Chi Split doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Thompson crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Thompson's bad books for that mishap!
