Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kwame Nti (ranked 2707 p4p, 3100 weight class) and Dominick Yonic (ranked 45 p4p, 52 weight class). Dominick Yonic will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dominick Yonic!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Summer Carpenter and Darius Henderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nti looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Yonic is pressing down on Nti's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Yonic looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nti is one step ahead there.

Yonic has his foot on Nti's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nti works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yonic not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nti might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Yonic is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Yonic tries to pass to full mount but Nti defends it.
Yonic tries to stand and escape but Nti is controlling the position.
Yonic is thwarting Nti's attempts to control the position.
Yonic is taking a breather. Nti says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Nti won't allow Yonic to pass to mount.
Nti definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nti is looking to improve his position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Yonic uses his free foot to push down on Nti's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nti.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nti is wriggling around trying to escape.
Yonic trying to control but Nti is having none of it.

Yonic is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Nti can't escape the position.
Yonic wants to stand but Nti is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

Nti working to try and regain half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Yonic swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nti is now in Yonic's guard. A big mistake from Yonic there, giving up the dominant position!

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Yonic catches Nti with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Nti misses with a takedown attempt - Yonic sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nti throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yonic's waist but Yonic gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nti off to one side.
Yonic looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Yonic, as that shot connected.
Nti walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Yonic lands with a good body shot.
Yonic lands the left hand.

It looks like Kwame Nti has been cut.

Nti shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Yonic napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yonic is looking to reverse the position.
Yonic is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Yonic is trying to get back to full guard.

Yonic has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at The Foundry. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Nti content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Nti prevents Yonic from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Yonic has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nti is working away from the top position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Nti closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Yonic's guard.
Nti won't allow Yonic to sweep him here.

Yonic working for a triangle but Nti defends it easily.
Yonic wants to control but Nti passes easily into half guard.
Yonic is trying to maintain the position but Nti is very close to passing his half guard.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Nti shoots in for a double leg but Yonic sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nti shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Yonic counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Yonic paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Yonic misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Nti.

Nti shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Yonic's guard.
Nti has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Yonic pulls Nti in close to prevent any damage.

Yonic is looking for a triangle but Nti pushes his legs off easily.
Kwame Nti overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Yonic ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Nti looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Yonic!

You can see the frustration on Yonic's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Yonic manages to work his way to half guard, despite Nti's best efforts.
Yonic is looking for a sweep. Nti is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
