Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bill Goldberg (ranked 3357 p4p, 3611 weight class) and Macka Briggs (ranked 441 p4p, 473 weight class). Goldberg comes to the cage accompanied by GOLDBERGS WCW INTRO MUSIC. Briggs is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Stepping Razor by Peter Tosh. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Macka Briggs!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldberg misses with a takedown attempt - Briggs sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Goldberg looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Briggs!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goldberg misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Briggs felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Briggs is looking to regain half guard here but Goldberg keeps moving and retains side control.
Goldberg has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Goldberg accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Goldberg throws a strike but Briggs rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Briggs wants to control from the top but Goldberg keeps moving.

Briggs stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goldberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Briggs is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

and Briggs cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Goldberg will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Briggs punishes Goldberg's body with a nice straight punch.

Crack! Briggs connects with the perfect overhand right and Goldberg falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Briggs!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Macka Briggs!
A very excited looking Macka Briggs rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
Bill Goldberg spoke after the fight, saying 'Rrrrrrrttttrttr'.
