PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Duchesne (ranked 2716 p4p, 2602 weight class) and Hunt Mfer (ranked 338 p4p, 321 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jonathan Duchesne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hunt Mfer!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duchesne takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Jonathan Duchesne has been cut.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Duchesne closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Mfer! But no joy.
Duchesne uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mfer.
Duchesne is looking to counter the offense by Mfer and move into the clinch.
Hunt Mfer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mfer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Duchesne tries to avoid it but Mfer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Duchesne to the ground. Duchesne escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Duchesne looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Mfer feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Duchesnes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Duchesne stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Duchesne wants it to stay on the feet.
Duchesne tries to counter by clinching up but Mfer breaks away and moves out of range.

I would just about give that final round to Hunt Mfer.
I've got Mfer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
